Good morning! I trust everyone had a GREAT weekend? It was rainy, then nice, then humid. Today is humid and my hair is a little poofy but that's okay! I will rock it :) Don't forget to catch my show tonight at 8 PM where I will be playing a special burrito mix by Tavo Mzk. I will be also talking a little about some awesome volunteer work that my friend Melissa is doing with her local animal adoption center. Check me out tonight on Spreaker!
And now on to the some awesome music videos from back in the day :)

Free Music Friday!
TGIF! Right! Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great week. Though it did start off like it was winter again, it quickly became gorgeous and beautiful! Earlier last week I did my radio show featuring artists from Phethouse Records. Started up by my hubby and his Aussie bestie Tyler, this label is quickly rising and growing in Australia to be the top Electronic Dance Music label. Check out some selections below that are free to download!
Enjoy!

Weekender Thursday - Star Trek Edition
Well, what can I say but OMG! Star Trek was AHHH-MAZING! For serious! You do not have to be a Trekkie to appreciate this movie. I mean, it helps but LJ isn't a Trekkie and he absolutely loved the first one and this one. This movie was AB-solutely AMAZEBALLS! It was so worth waiting in line for like 3 hours...though we got there early, surprisingly enough, we weren't the first ones there. This one guy in front of me had been there two hours earlier. I know I wrote about this yesterday but GO SEE Star Trek.
And to show how awesome I am...I dressed up last night for the movie showing. And yes, I was NOT the only one. HA!
When the movie started I had nothing but a stupid grin on my face. The movie definitely took me for a ride and had amazing surprises and twists. So basically, what you should do this weekend? Go see Star Trek!

Fashion Fab Wednesday
Good morning! It's Wednesday! We are half way there to weekend! Before I dive into Fashion Fab Wednesday, I'd like to take a moment and thank the guys of The Raw Nerve Show for letting me call in twice last night. Twice! First time was for me to explain Star Trek and the second time was to talk about our obsession with Candy Crush. Those guys are hilarious and great to listen too. Check them out every Tuesday night at 7:30 PM EST.
Speaking of Star Trek, I am SO excited to be going to see it tonight! I am going to the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles Airport to watch Star Trek in full effect. If you click on the link this air and space museum will look very familiar if you have seen Transformers 2.
One thing for sure, LJ and I are going early because the show is sold out. Last time we were there to see Transformers 2, we arrived 3 hours early and there was already a line. I have a feeling it will be the same this time as well. So we are going early to make sure we get good seats. :) I may even dress in costume...if I do, I'm pretty sure I won't be the only one. :-P
And with that I will roll into Fashion Fab Wednesday by posting a pic of me in my homemade Star Trek uniform :-P
As LJ says I can be very crafty. Indeed, I made our costumes for a party ages ago and yes, I still have mine. I think I kept it for an occasion just like the one for tonight :)

Daydreaming and TV Show Tuesday
Good morning and happy Tuesday!!! So this morning I got to chatting with a fellow Spreaker broadcaster about researching for topics for his show tonight, The Raw Nerve Show. I thought I would help, but he had it pretty much covered. I pretty much stopped helping once I saw this article on CNN.com, Eat Insects and Save the World says U.N. I'm going to ahead and say EWWW no. I know in some cultures it's normal and some insects are even seen as delicacies. Yeah, no...I'm good.
So tonight, catch The Raw Nerve Show on Spreaker.com, 7:30 pm EST. Click the link above to take you their Twitter page which will have the link to their show page. Speaking of shows, if you missed mine last night, check out below. A little chit chat about some inspiration I have had and blog articles I have written as well as a very chill mix by Ravekilla/Ramiro.
TV Show Tuesday
So coming from someone who doesn't watch a lot of TV, I do have a lot of shows I like to talk about. :-P Well, this show I will be discussing isn't on air anymore but you can Netflix it. It only lasted two seasons but I have seen with most of Joss Whedon's awesome shows, they are very short lived. This show is the Dollhouse. Whenever either my hubby or myself are in cranky moods we say to each other, "Would you like a treatment?" Watch the show, you'll understand what I am talking about. :) The IMDB description is way wrong. It's not based in a lab with people going out to assignments then having their memories erased. I saw the Dollhouse as more of a high tech whore house. Again, watch the show, you will see what I mean. I personally think the ideas of Joss Whedon are pure gold but unfortunately nearly every show that he has created, save for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer, have all been canceled way too quickly. And even Buffy was about to be canceled but was picked up by another TV station. I do believe it went for United Paramount Network (UPN) to the Warner Brothers (WB), before they changed to CBS and Warner Brothers (CW). I don't think UPN is around anymore. Nevertheless, if you are looking for a series that isn't long and you don't have to commit to for many seasons, check out Dollhouse.

That one person...
For some that one person hasn't come along yet. For some it came on early in their life or maybe a later in life. That one person you encounter in life that literally changes who you are. It could be a teacher, a parent, a friend, a boyfriend or girlfriend. The change can be both negative and/or positive. For me, I think the person changed me in a positive way. Here is my story.
When I was in college, my junior year, I met the guy who I thought I was going to marry. I was SO in love with him. He was my absolute, first love. Well, it was one sided. My side. I didn't realize how emotional dependent I was on him until he broke up with me after a year of dating. Coincidentally, around our anniversary of dating one year. Prior to this guy, I've dated before, I've been dumped before. I would cry about it, then move on. I remember watching this MTV special about break ups. The people who were interviewed talked about how they didn't eat, they didn't sleep. One guy described his chest hurting like his heart was physically breaking. I had no idea what they were talking about. As I said, I had been dumped before and never felt those things....until this guy in college dumped me. Then I knew EXACTLY what they were all talking about. I was a mess. I couldn't eat, I couldn't sleep, I got fired from my job, I was failing my classes. I didn't have anyone to talk to because this guy was my whole world, my best friend and the one person I could talk to, I couldn't talk to. I had to leave school for a week to recover. I didn't want to come back to school, but I had to. I had to see him around campus with the girl he dumped me for. The girl he said, they were just "friends". I didn't give myself time to grieve and heal. Yes, I mean grieve. Being dumped like that is a huge, major life change and a loss. If I had known about counseling services at this point I so would have gone. I really, truly needed it. Instead, I started to date the next guy I could get and even married him. Yep, married him. It lasted all of six months. It was annulled.
It took me, I'd say about 3 years to grieve, heal and have the pieces that were broken put together. After this guy, I was never the same again. The change this guy affected me with was that I would never, ever, let a guy do that to me again. I will not be emotionally dependent on anyone, ever. I am married now and love my husband to bits. However, whether he dies or we break up, I will have learned that I will be okay, I can go on. I have already done my Bella move, curled up into a ball and be numb for months. It didn't strike me until my mother died but, life is too short. I ain't got time for this mess.
My mother passing also affected me in a big way. Those blog entries you can read and are located under 2008.
That one weird "thing"...
At the beginning of a new relationship, we all hide some parts of ourselves to our person of interest. Mostly, it's because we are afraid if we let it all hang out, so to speak, it might drive them away. What am I talking about? Well, remember in the movie Dodgeball when the girl wouldn't let the guy in her house because of her thing for unicorns? Yeah, that kind of "thing" is what I am talking about.
Some of us aren't afraid to show that quirk or quirks right off the bat. I mean why waste time? If you don't like my penchant for collecting fairy figurines then why bother continue with the song and dance of dating?
I asked my dear hubs, was there a strange quirk about me either then, when we first start dating, or now that he noticed or notices. That thing where it makes you go ewww or, wow, that is weird, but I am in love with you now so it's too late to check out. My husband said, I have a couple of weird things. First, it's the habit I have with pulling my bottom lip and biting the inside of my cheek. Yes, it's weird but at least it's not like I keep people in a pit and make them put lotions in a basket. Second, is that yes, this may be gross, but, I don't always brush my teeth at night. Yes, I know, it grosses me out too but, my excuse is sometimes, I'm just so tired after a long night of partying that I don't even take my make-up off, brush me teeth, take out my contacts or change clothes. I just pass right out on the bed. Yes, I do pay for not brushing my teeth every night. Like today, I had 3 cavities filled. It's not I do it all the time, I do, for the most part, brush my teeth every night.
The one "thing" about my hubby that appeared later, that wasn't apparent when we started to date was the fact he is a major slob. He totally cleaned up his place when I was about to come over. The days and nights I stayed over, he cleaned and was pristine about everything. Well, that completely went 180 when he started to get "comfortable" with our relationship. It's right around the point where you realize it's okay to fart in front of each other...or at least HE is comfortable enough to fart in front of you.
Sometimes that one "thing" can be something physical about a person. Like in Seinfeld, the woman with man hands, or in Shallow Hal where the guy didn't like the hot girl with a really long second toe.
You get my point. Everyone has a thing that they hide at first from the person they are JUST starting to date. Once that honeymoon phase is over, it all comes out. When you know that weird thing and you love the person just as much or even more so after finding out their "thing", then it's truly meant to be. If you find out about their thing after months of dating and it repulses you and you dump them because of their thing, then you're just shallow and will be forever alone. Unless their thing is keeping people in pits and making them put lotions in baskets....then, turn and run as fast as you can.
